The candler is a high intensity Brinsea. It is worth the cost. I ues a Cannon elph 100 to take the pictures and videos.

Two things that I have found to be essential for hatching:

Brinsea Spot Check thermometer
Brinse high intensity Ova View

Save up your egg money and buy them.
Wow, thanks so much! am going to go look this up. I have mostly EE's right now, which I love, and a lot of green/blue eggs. I also just got some Cuckoo Marans so I know I will definitely need something good to candle with.

Here is another question for everyone, I am new to hatching (first batch in incubator now). In regards to the green and blue eggs, I have tried candling them and can see nothing, absolutely nothing in them, but if I take an egg out of the fridge that is the same color I can see through it with no problems, any idea of why?

Things start growing, the yolk gets darker pretty quick actually if there is a baby forming. Then, as the chick forms more, it really gets darker with the body mass in there.

That is a good thing--there is something inside those eggs!

Glowing is bad, Darkness inside the egg is good!

I hope that means they might actually hatch. Just makes me nuts that I cannot tell for sure, especially after seeing a swimming baby in one of the brown eggs. TY

In the 60's yesterday, in the low 30's today and snowing. Hopefully it will turn to rain. Should, it's warming up to the 40's for today. This is what to expect in Utah..back and forth, until around May.

Oh..saw that the North East is in for it again! Oh my goodness. A lot of snow coming by tonight.

This is the most current picture of me. Messy hair from the gym, but this is me, playing with a just born doeling. I have a milk share, as I can't have goats right now.

Someone said this to me, so I don't feel bad saying...I thought you were a Grandmom, by the name, lol! Funny how we get things in our heads. Beautiful! I don't think I've ever told you how much I love your Q-Tip avy. Ingenious.
