I'm joining! I set my eggs on late Friday, the 28th. Sorry so late posting my numbers!

Here's what I set:
4 Blue Polish
3 BLRW
3 Blue Orp
2 Speckled Sussex
2 Pumpkin Hulsey
4 Olive Eggers

So an odd mix! Some were shipped and some are my own. I'm using a Brinsea.

I have always worried about cats too because my neighbors five cats think my flower bed is their huge litter bow. I never thought anything other than maybe a cat or a raccoon would be able to get through the fence I have up and luckily I've never had a cat or raccoon problem and yeah I'm guessing a fox is probably too smart for a live trap, but I'm still going to try.

I think your chilled eggs will be ok. Information from research cited on Brinsea's website show eggs chilled early in incubation won't likely be harmed.

"~~2. If eggs are likely to be cooled for longer periods (more than 2 hours) the way they should be treated depends upon their state of development. If the eggs are newly set the best plan is to cool them fairly quickly down to 5 - 20°C (41 - 68°F) and hold them in this range - put them in the fridge! It may also be best to treat eggs this way up to about the 14th day, although greater losses must be expected if severe cooling occurs later in incubation."

Hi--This will be fun!
I set 19 Crested Cream Legbar, 2 Olive Eggers and 4 French Copper Marans in the incubator Friday March 28--
And I have a broody hen that has 5 Buckeyes, 5 Blue Americanas and 2 Leghorn/Legbar crosses.

And we're off to the countdown!

I think my eggs are fried. And not in the good way. My incubator has been running a little hot, and I've been doing my best to turn it down a little at a time. When I got home yesterday, it had shot up to 105 and who knows how long it was like that??? It was also our first 70 degree day -- and after a 35 degree night. I set the eggs early Saturday morning. If I candle them will it show if they're goners?

if it's any consolation, my spot-check straight from brinsea is broken as well. 

Mine was also broken direct from brinsea. But I called them and they not only sent a replacement but an extra!! Both of which seem to be working great.

A little bit of good news, I candled the serama this morning, I know it's early yet, but there are at least 5 I can see growth in.

Just collected my eggs. I'm pretty sure Marshie is broody AGAIN.

WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO BE ONE DAY AFTER SET FAY FOR THE EASTER HATCH?!?!?!?

It's so depressing. I came to the coop, her sitting on that little nest of hers, on two warm eggs. One day late. Stinks.

You can still count them! We gave a +/- 2 days for setting eggs.

Hi everyone! I just weighed Oomoo yesterday, and he weighs 2 LBS! This guy is only a little over 2 weeks old! he drinks and eats SOOOOOO much and he is only a baby, HIs sib isn't as greedy lolol .(of course she's younger thought). I'll have to post more pics. The third little emu in the egg is growing very nicely, and is wiggling. I have been sooo busy taking care of them, finally moved them out side today into a shed with a heat lamp. they seem to be doing well.

avian, like I said she refunded and all is well, she said brinsea messed up and ordered too many made and had them stored in a warehouse in FL and thats why the humidity rusted them all. she is dealing with brinsea on the issue.

Hmmmm, I bought mine directly from Brinsea.

If I candle them will it show if they're goners?

Lower the temperature and keep going. You do not know how long it was like that, and it takes the internal temperature of the egg to get too high before it kills the embryo.
