yes- i had a hen do this at first i thought it was a fluke, but then it happened every day. I have no idea how to fix it though, a raccoon got her late last fallThere is chirping coming from the bator! This hatch is taking forever! I swear when I used to hatch in my hoverbator, I always had pips on days 19 and 20, but not anymore. The Brinsea is always right on time. Everyone hatches on day 21. I guess it probably does say something about the accuracy of the thermometer, and probably means it doesn't have warm and cool spots, but still. I'd love some early birds!
So I have a new chicken issue unrelated to the hatch-a-long. My Jaerhon, Dottie, has started laying an egg every evening right from the perch where she sleeps. Every day I go to lock up the birds, and there's Dottie on her perch, and on the coop floor, 5 feet underneath her is her egg...every...single...day. What gives?? Anyone ever have a chicken dropping eggs from their sleeping perch?
