HELP!!! I had ordered all my eggs for the hatch and now found mixed Marans and Olive Eggers for sale!

I have read posts about double stacking and cramming full indicators but don't know how to do it and I need to figure it out so I know how many eggs I can buy!

the H-A-L should not be a controlling factor in the decision, I have a great time on BYC and enjoyed last Easter and this one is turning out to be great time also. Order your Maran mix and olive egger eggs to be delivered after your incubator is empty and keep this thread going after Easter so we can all hear about your future hatch. Mixing ages of chicks in a flock is just one part of the fun and challenge of raising chickens. Please keep us posted on the 21 days after Easter hatch-a-long.

The reason I need to get them now is the seller is offering a discount price because she hasn't set up her own incubator or divided the different coloured/groups of Marans Americanas into breeding pens. The price will likely triple when that happens and I can't afford them at that price.

My rooster died Friday night, so we've been collecting, hoping his seed is still in the hens. I'm really hoping I can get as many as I want by set day, but fertile ones.
The hens usually stay fertile for up to a month- so here's hoping for a great hatch for you!

I've also started collecting eggs for the HAL- I keep them in an egg carton in a spare room, fat side up- don't forget to turn your stored eggs three times a day (I just place a book under one end of the carton, then the other end).

Good luck, and sorry to hear about your rooster.

What kind of incubator do you have?

You can stack like this (only 1 egg stacked here), or you can put them in cartons in the incubator and tilt one side of the carton, then switch to the other side, etc for turning.
