My husband says I'm only allowed to have 50 chickens![]()
Do you cool them and mist them daily after the first week? Waterfowl need the extra cooling period and the moistening, and sebbies really need it. They are notoriously hard to hatch, and with them, the cool down and warm misting is mandatory.I may need help hatching some sebbies... none of the eggs are doing good! All of them are fertile but die after day 7... Help? I keep water in there all the time!
Thanks! I'll have to look into getting one.Quote:
I mostly use Accurite digital thermometer/hydrometers. I get them from Walmart (http://www.walmart.com/ip/16888914) for about $10. It's always a good idea to calibrate them against a known good thermometer (human fever thermometers are good).
that thermometer is not accurate enough. You need one that read in tenths.I mostly use Accurite digital thermometer/hydrometers. Denying the chicken math... Equally good, since it sounds like he has accepted his fate with only a small, obligatory protest!Mine either makes faces or pretends he's not listening. He stopped commenting on the number of critters we have a long time ago.
I use the small white thermometer/hydrometer from Walmart. When I got mine they were only $7. I've had them for 6 years and just now need to replace one. They take 1 AAA battery that will last a yearWe're 3 weeks out from the set date for chicken eggs and I still need to get thermometers and a new humidity gage since mom lost mine. No idea how that happened. I'm just going to get another PETCO brand gage, but I'm not 100% on whether to get fish tank thermometers or not.
What would y'all suggest?
mine has begun to enable me. LolMine either makes faces or pretends he's not listening. He stopped commenting on the number of critters we have a long time ago.
