Well, my little test hatch is at last finished - I think - and I have got a small case of post-partum Blues. This hatch was all over the place in the space of these last three days, and 10 of the 15 eggs I locked down with high hopes ended up hatching, the last a surprise Silkie late this morning. Air cells on these eggs at lockdown seemed small, whereas the air cells in eggs of the previous hatch, were huge, the difference being in the age of the eggs when I set them and how meticulous I was while storing them. Egg weight is still probably the best indicatior of correct air cell size, A good study might be to compare the percent weight loss of different sets of eggs when incubated at different humidities. OK, singin' the PostPartum Blues.

Thanks! We went the old cooler/lightbulb/computer fan route. We have a temp/hydro reader and some arduino doo-hicky thing my husband is programming. We will see how it all turns out. We are still fine tuning everything, but our 3yo keeps sneaking an egg in every morning in hopes that he can hatch one early. Haha he is so fun.

I can't seem to get my bator right the temp is up and down. I'm still working on it I may look on BYC for some help with it. I'm still not sure if I can get in. I have the eggs to do but we will see.

I have a lot of catching up to do. My power has been out since Wednesday night from the storm. The power co said it should be on between the 8th and the 13th. Well I better save my cell battery and I'll catch up soo as I get power
