Hi! I have 10 eggs set!

Well, I did a day 6 1/2 candle - I'm pretty sure all my BLRW are infertile. But I was told that might be the case when I got them. Many others have good veining, many more are still a huge question mark. Can't see a darn thing in any of my turkey eggs, except I see that some of the air cells are still detached. I'm tilting them back and forth gently 3x a day. I know it's too early to make any definitive calls, so there they will sit until at least day 10 now. I think… I hope I can stay away from them.

Well, I did my first complete candle tonight - middle of Day 7 for me. I am pretty pleased with the results so far! Out of the 32 eggs from my backyard flocks, only 5 look like probable clears, the rest have VERY healthy embryos swimming around in there!!!

On the 18 shipped Ameraucana eggs, the results were not as good,

but there is still a significant number that have strong looking veins, and a couple others that might just be late starters... I am hopeful that there might be 10 or possibly even more viable embryos in the bunch, but I left them all in for now. Keep growing little chickies!!!

Onward to WEEK 2 of incubation...

I also had some clears..quite a few. Thought I only had three viable from a friends eggs..but..I only had two. :/ Also have some in from shipping with some not so fun looking air cells. Guess we'll see what happens..can you believe we are going into the second week?

Yes, we have to wait on those dark eggs before we can tell. I have some pretty Olive Eggs in there, but I can see air cells developing so I am sure they are doing fine. Too bad about a few of us having so many clears! :/
