So far I have 21 out (including a silkie that was in a hurry to hatch and hadn't finished absobing the yolk, not to mention the bloody membrane and "cord".) I have 15 eggs left, 4 of which I do not expect to hatch. Out of the remainding 11-9 have pipped externally. So I guess we're on to the next sleepless night.

8 have hatched and 4 more have pipped so far. Think next time I'm gonna lower the bator temp by a half a degree if house temps are high of 80 and more like it has been this time. There's a lot of yucka and blood in the eggs. That means they were a little early right? I still haven't opened the bator to remove any shells or chicks. Room mate and hubs figured out how to get the AC running and I dare not open with room temp and humidity so much lower while chicks are still damp and some pipping. Also brooder temp is at 85 now that they have the air running :-(

Wow all these posts about early hatches, pips, & zips! Congratulations to everyone!

All I have are EGGS! I saw some eggs wobbling on Tues night, so I did the lockdown on Wed. Nothing to see yet ....... and I know because I keep looking. My eggs were started by a broody, so I'm not too sure on the set date. (She started sleeping in the nest box on March 14, so I believe Sat or Sun are the target.)

Chicks in my one bator are in a hurry too. Went from first pip to nearly all of them piped and this in just a few hours.

What would you do if you had a chick that had piped a hole just a bit smaller than a dime, had already absorbed the yolk, and turned itself upside down?

I've left it alone all day, but it's starting to bother me. It was doing good until it decided to do a head stand.

I just had a Day 19 hatch! This morning it was pipped internally, then pipped externally at around 11 am. I was in the shower a half hour ago and when I got out the pip looked a little bigger. I went to grab a glass of water and when I came back it was half zipped. I swear, it zipped in literally 10 minutes. It went from pipped to completely hatched in 15. It was the fastest hatch I've ever heard of. I was nervous he might still have yolk sac outside but he doesn't. He's a perfectly developed, cute lil' yellow baby. :)
