I need some help. I came home to find one of my banty eggs has hatched and I have a unique healthy looking chick except she can't walk.

Her feet are up by her head and even when I gently try to straighten them they just pop right back up. What can I do?

Look up slipped hock. It is not usually something you can correct but worth a try.

Out of 19 that went into lockdown 16 have hatched. 2 more trying to get out of their eggs still. 1 egg with no action so far.
What's the odds of hatching out ALL roosters? lol. I think mine all look like roosters as far as I can tell by online pics of how to sex Dominiques.

The lighting makes my chicks look brown in pics but they are really black.
My daughter said this one looks like Einstein.

Some of my 100% rooster hatch. Jk. But I'm seriously thinking I have a lot of roos.

I think things have gone pretty well considering a lot of my eggs had been fridged for up to 2 weeks, they were pullet eggs, my rooster had been gone for over 2 weeks the last few days worth of eggs I set, this was my first time doing this, and I used a Little Giant 9300.

Second pip is beginning to zip! Third pip/soccer damage was rolled over with pip facing down. Don't know if it will make it. Fourth pip - one of the marans/CCL's that I am hoping will be olive eggers!

Squee - maybe this chick will get a sibling or two!!!!!

Suggestions:

I had an egg pip. he stuck his leg out. And just stayed that way for a couple of hours. Went ahead and checked on him and found he had pipped the other side. He was stuck cause of his leg sticking out the other hole. Went ahead and assisted. Just popping off enough for him to finish getting out by himself.

Well, he is out and actively moving, but...his head is curl down to his belly. And he is just laying on his side. He is active and seems fine. Just looks like he can't stand up cause he is off balance from his head be tucked under.

Any suggestion, to help or just leave him be?

I do it anyways. Or i put dry rice in though a hole. I just opened my bator to add water bc my humidity was LOW at 50! Im not sure if i have a chick shrink wrapped or not...
I'm one of those that takes the chick out when it hatches. If another hatches not long after, out it comes. I don't see a problem with the humidity going down a bit. It will come back up.

Thanks for your input! This am we have a chick and a pip. Very excited here at our house!

How cute..that's a tiny little bator..is that a Brensea? I had a larger one once, but not the smaller ones, so not sure if this is it.

That's a great hatch! I've never had one, but I think all Dominiques will have a head spot, from what I remember, it's just the barring gene sign. So you may have plenty of females in there.

If he seems alright, let him be for a while, and check every so often.

If they have unabsorbed yolk or can't get the legs under and seem to be getting trampled, sometimes I stick them in a Tupperware cup in the incubator.

Has anyone had eggs hatch 4 days after everyone else was finished? All my eggs hatched on day 20 & 21 (by 3pm). I have 15 eggs left and nothing. No wobble, pip, chirp, nothing.......
