The 8th Annual BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!!!!

It's been crazy here in NoDak.. last week it as 30 degrees amd beautiful and this is today
Yup...that's some rough looking weather. Brrrr!

Here in Georgia we've been spoiled by a relatively mild winter. My peach and pear trees all bloomed early last week and have already set fruit. Unfortunately, they will all get nipped in the bud later this week. Some pears may survive the blast of sub-freezing temps, but my peaches will be 100% lost. What a bummer.

Today I'm finishing a large brooder pen to hold some of my young pullets and cockerels since I'm not quite ready to expose them to 25ºF temps. After this spell of cold weather passes, into the outdoor coop they go.

I would like t copy the pic of the snow for my sister in law in texas she don't believe that in some places it's still snowing. And I'm in Georgia too and have converted a dog cage I have to hold my chicks a few days before they go outside so I'm in that bad transition time and still more chicks in the cooker( incubator)

We had 50 inches already this winter before this.. but it all melted in a 1 week nice spree. I would love to be able to even have chicks outside other then during the afternoon when it's warm evem in the summer...

LOL! If I were you, I'd go for the Brinsea, Mini II Eco. It's cheap, it's affective, and it's small. It fits about 10 chicken eggs, duck eggs, and lots of quail and banties. That's the one that I have, and I love it. Just giving you advice, but do what you want

With the Brinsea do you ever test its temperature and humidity, or are they good enough machines?
