I so wish I could have ducks.

I'm getting them from My Pet Chicken so I'm assuming the photos they used are either the parents or they're from the parents. I was planning to buy some from Ewe Crazy Farms' stock, but for some reason, I changed my mind. I'll probably go back and get some of their's when I can afford it.
ewe crazy has sold out of Orpington.

I have 9 duck eggs in my incubator set already as of the 16th they hatch out the Thursday before Easter and the other eggs are chicken eggs that hatch out on the sixth. This is my first time with an incubator. It's a still air, foam on with manual egg turning. We see how well we do.

It's only day 26 and one of my pekin eggs has pipped!

Oh my, so stinking cute!
These are 2 of my favorite chick pictures ever!! Just had to enter them in the photo contest! :jumpy
Adorable.
I'm officially in!! I have eggs coming next week and will get the incubator out this weekend and get it ready. I hope I have some broodies before hatch day gets here. :fl Right now, I have one pullet that has been sitting for a week. A friend is bringing some of her Welsummer eggs over to give her. Too early for the hatchalong but I didn't want to try and break her. I hope she can hatch some replacements for my friend...none of her Welsummers went broody last year so she need some replacements badly.
Yay! Welsummers don't usually go broody, I have other breeds for my broodiees. I did have 1 Wellie pullet go broody last summer.
I explained to her about Welsummers from hatchery stock not being likely to go broody. She only brought me three eggs (they have a nice color) from the last two days (she leaving to go out of town) and asked if I'd hatch some of my eggs because she wants broody hens. The pullet has 9 eggs. At lock-up tonight, there was one hen (who was broody and raised chicks last year) and a pullet (hatched last summer) on nests. We'll see if they are there at the end of the day tomorrow! :fl
Fingers crossed for broodies!
Our happy babies wanted to enter the contest. They are so cute! How could we not enter them.
