The 9th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong!

How about you send some of that rain my way? We’ve had a very dry winter with hardly any snow. Everything is so dry; just waiting for a tiny spark to set it all ablaze. :(
We need rain too here in California. Luckily we have been getting it but it is going to be too little too late

I sooooo wish I could send you over some of our wet weather! Apparently we are going to get snow again next week :( I’m so ready for the summer!

Down to 27 eggs. Lots of clears! :he 1 more week! Although my olive eggs are making me nervous. I’m running completely dry and air cells look so small! I even have a dehumidifier running down there.
Sometimes it goes that way. I hope the next hatch has better fertility

It is a mistake to go below 25% for humidity regardless of what the air cells look like.

Thank you :)

They have young cockerels in with them so I was surprised even the 11 from that pen were fertile.

I live in a very wet area. It’s been raining and snowing back and forth for a few months. I’ve always hatched this way because if I add water before lockdown the chicks all drown. I have good hatch rates with the fertile eggs. Last batch was 22/24;) and the 2 that didn’t hatch were fully formed and in position but still had a lot of liquid.
