I have 7 healthy babies out of the 8 that went into lockdown. Didn't really expect this! Ron, barn yard mixes aren't only cute, they seem to hatch out pretty strong/sturdy. The one I was worried about with the real soft tummy is doing great today.

Nice job! I think mixed breeds are stronger and live longer.

I started my eggs a hour ago 10.00am sharp.First 8 days my eggs stay big end up I don't touch or turn my eggs till day 8 or 9 .Day 9 I will candle eggs and move them to incubator with automatic egg turner.Then day 18 I will move back to incubator I started them in.I only move them back because incubator it is bigger giving hatched chicks room to move aroundView attachment 1290795

I set 123 chicken eggs and 8 turkey eggs! 10nof those eggs are under a broody silkie

You do seem to get hybrid vigor with them. And they come from your place so you control flock health

I can't set eggs today..
I really wanted to jump aboard but conflicts of my schedule are not in my favor. I shopped for an extra oven but the particular brand and model I prefer was out of stock.

I wish all whom that are setting today, the best.

Already did that twice. They say its like perfect and will work great, so i am giving it a chance. It had best work for that much money or they will be very sorry. If i return it because i changed my mind i have to pay all the shipping. Not impressed.
