The 9th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong!

The two Trader Joe's in Albuquerque and the one up in Santa Fe carry the fertile eggs. The last time I had the fantastic hatch of TJ eggs (27 of 32) was from the Santa Fe store when I caught the eggs just 3 days off of packing date. I'm swinging by there today and -- -- I believe today is the day they restock the shelves with fresh(er) eggs. I'd love to have another TJ hen or two as they're stellar layers.

In the meantime, I have assorted mutt eggs ready to stash in the Brinsea that will all hatch out as either EE or Olive Eggers.

They are! I have two of them still. I kept them when I had to downsize because they are such good layers

What is Trader Joe’s. Do they ship eggs?

Trader Joes is an organic Grocery store chain in the lower 48. They sell fertile eggs for eating in their produce section. Amazingly, the eggs are actually fertile and hatchable. If you get them at the correct time, they hatch fairly well

I have also hatched them from whole foods fertile eggs. They are from the same hatchery in Sonoma County California

I set 123 chicken eggs and 8 turkey eggs! 10nof those eggs are under a broody silkie

Ok I have my final count that will be set for hatching!
24 silkie eggs of varying colors including bbs, paint, and calico!
7 OE
8 Super blues
1 maran...had to get just one more hehehe

We have 19 eggs to set. Our rooster is a buff orpington/copper Maran mix and we have 6 eggs from ameracauna (easter egger) hens and 13 from barred rock hens

Fingers crossed everything goes well! This is our first time incubating

11:22am here ready to load 41 eggs at 12:00 Ohio time. Happy incubating to all
