"Bummer Town Daddio".. little Underdog didn't make it:(. Although it was a weird & wild experience. Most of the pods of that hatch unzipped and were out on day 20. So when I made on late day 22, I was 99.5% confident that the balance of the eggs were just plain unsuccessful. That 5% chance had my garbage can chirping. wowzers.

It was the Maiden Voyage on a newly purchased incubator. Manufactured by Farm Innovators.
An analog controlled oven. My Little Giants are all digital and LIE to me, as far as accurate temp/air moisture readings are concerned. So we went back to old school analog. Somewhat successful but not spectacular. I have 2 more hatches this week with my LG's, so I have my fingers crossed still.
No matter what kind of oven you have, do yourself a favor, buy an aux temp/air moisture meter. They maybe inexpensive in some cases, but worth their weight in gold when used for incubation purposes

I am also using a farm innovator this year. Having trouble with temp and humidity. Put extra hydrometer on top of eggs showing different readings. Will have to call company for info if still acting up on Monday.

try just laying a towel on top

I'll be posting later total egg # set. Decided to set day late, may have enough to fill it now. That roller turner in my Hova doesn't hold 41 eggs anyway, eggs are to big and long from my giant's.
Good news is I have a five yr old EE (not setting her eggs) been laying daily, wow. Only other I still have from that group, a GL polish been over a yr since she laid a egg. She's lucky she's small and perty, doesn't eat much so I guess she can stick around.

We are waiting for one to come up in classified ads at a fairly reasonable price. We went and looked at one last season. Used and needed repairs/parts. Almost bought it but with the asking price and cost of parts, we could buy a new one. The guy wouldn't budge on his price. We said thanks, but no thanks.

What are some way to lower the humidity in the bator? I tried rice in a sock, but no luck.

The eggs I set in it tomorrow will increase the humidity. I'm thinking lower it to 35-40% so that it will be at 45% until day 18 then increase to 50-55%
