Many have troubles with the wafer thermostats. Maybe it is because they wear out and should be replace?Love the simplicity of wafer thermostats. From the get go in use I'd noticed the metal relaxes tension after three or so days and you need to turn up the setting as the now relaxed metal is flexing easier. Sure enough, like clockwork, noticed this morning I was a degree low. All was well yesterday noon so it relaxed sometime in that 24 hour period. Still in process of bumping it up as I know if I go too far and the eggs finally catch up in temp it will send the temp far the other side. The Hovabator seems to be close to 1/6th full turn up, I'm at 1/4 for now but expect to bump down that wee bit to be spot on 99.5 again.
Thanks for the safety warning!I admit, I didn't read all 100+ pages here, before I jumped in, but I wonder if anyone is using a Harris Farms Nurture Right incubator??
I decided to try one, got it over the weekend. So far, it feels nice and testing has been good on humidity and temps. But... yesterday a post from FB was brought to my attention relating to chicks being injured in the fan after hatch. Apparently the company will be adding a different shroud or cover to future models, and will provide the shroud/cover to anyone that requests one.
Just thought I'd share, if anyone has one, check yours out.

Oops... didnt read your whole postMake sure you cover the fan with wire so that when the chicks hatch they don't get injured by it.
A lady on FB had that happen to her, otherwise she had a good hatch rate.
