I candled my eggs and out of 25 Just 4 where clear. One of those was a blood ring. Good odds. I saved eggs in case more was clear which I expected it would be but now I have eggs and no where to put them. :he
Clearly you need another incubator or a good broody!

Candled shipped eggs. Very bad large air cells which was expected.
Question does one up the humidity for them to try and help weight loss or leave them at 40%? I now have the other shipped eggs in with them. Anyone try higher humidity with shipped eggs?
Could you have the egg upside down? Some eggs do not have a well defined big end and sometimes the air cell will be in the small end.
I'll try again tonight, in case it has a saddle air cell on the sides.

My daughter and I performed our first candle tonight and pulled 16 (mix of clear or blood ring) of the 52 we had in our incubators. The bad news is that 5/6 of the surprise NN from Ebay where no go’s, but our shipped SFE’s, EE’s, OE’s and Seramas are all doing pretty well. We will do it again next Sunday night and hope good things.

Since my eggs are in my neighbor's incubator, I'll won't be candling until at least Tuesday. I had a lot of trouble seeing into the Marans eggs last year and the Ameraucana weren't much easier.

Oh my gosh, it's a different color from the other Easter Eggers - (Green) bluish green egg-read that green pigment is hard to see through like the French Copper Maran dark brown eggs. I do not have any of the egg showing any light. Wow. Going to borrow my hubby's super flashlight tomorrow. So it is definitely fertile! But I can't see in it. I have 19-37% humidity on the low side and today it went up into the 50's degree mark. Added a lil water when it went to 19%...they are so dark, it looks like they could hatch this week - not March 31. My Araucana blue egg is so much easier to see through.

I’m sorry to post this here, but there is hatching going on here and i need some help keeping me sane...

The chicks are playing some serious rugby with their sibblings, should i take them out when they’re dry? I tested it beforehand and the humidity is back up to standard within 2 minutes of opening the incubator. Also, the egg with the airchamber on the side that pipped yesterday around noon is not progressing, should i be worried?

I have the heating plate set up, but it gets to 104 F beneth it on the towels, should i tune it down a bit with the switch or is that fine? I guess if the towels are 104, the plate is even hotter...
