The 9th Annual BYC Easter Hatchalong!

What was the cross again? NN rooster?
Two groups. NN rooster over white jersey giant hens, and jersey giant rooster over NN hens. I candled a bunch a five days, can't see crap, maybe veins on one. Bright three D maglight, brown eggs, IDK how people see in those dark chocolate eggs. A lot working against them, cold, just started laying again, jg hens beat up NN roo, jg roo was a idiot and got frost bit feet, guess he didn't like that coops low roost and found out he was sleeping the ground, not sure how much hopping on the hens he was doing favoring his feet (Not super bad, just not 100% himself either)
I'm praying for 100% developing fertile eggs just don't dare check again..maybe tomorrow.

Only one or two of the eggs had nothing in them... keeping them on the bator still.

That is great!

OOH I am SO HAPPY! I am new to BYC, and when I saw a link to the Hatch Along in someone's signature, I knew I'd love to do this! Guess what? It just so happens that I set my first batch of eggies in the incubator on the 10th (Coronation Sussex)! So, I'm IN!!! *fluffybutt dance*
Please let me know if I am supposed to post anything else; I will read through the whole thread now!

How many eggs did you set?

I admit, I didn't read all 100+ pages here, before I jumped in, but I wonder if anyone is using a Harris Farms Nurture Right incubator??

I decided to try one, got it over the weekend. So far, it feels nice and testing has been good on humidity and temps. But... yesterday a post from FB was brought to my attention relating to chicks being injured in the fan after hatch. Apparently the company will be adding a different shroud or cover to future models, and will provide the shroud/cover to anyone that requests one.

Just thought I'd share, if anyone has one, check yours out.

Harris Farms llc who made this incubator has been starting on sending separate fan guard to anyone who request one, you can email them to get one.

Nice. I have Speckled Sussex started. Going to check Air cells tonight as I think they need more humidity.
