One of my Jubilee Orpington eggies just pipped and is peeping away in there! WOOT!!!

Chicks will hatch now!

Final count from The Cottages. We had a large number of eggs that were unfertilized this year of the 67 to start only 41 made it to lockdown. and of those 28 hatched.
But much Fun was had! This Young lady is 100 years old. and shared many stories of having chicks when she was a young girl.

28 is still a good number of chicks!

I seem to remember the "young" lady from one of the last hatches. It is great to see she is still doing well

Hot water bottle? If you have gas stove to heat water. Generator is what I use if it goes too long. We’ve lost power here twice a week at a time. Thus the generator.
I think @Farmer Connie mention a computer battery back up that would work in a bind. I didn’t get make or model number. The wife actually kept the late hatching eggs warm during the last storm. When the power came back we put them back in incubator and all four hatched in an hour.

I've used 2 liter pop bottles filled with hot water for warmth during a power outage.
