The "Accidental" no turn hatch experiment.

He came around. I had dropped him while trying to splint him, I thought he was going to die. A half an hour nestled in my hands and he calmed down and started perking up. I felt so horrible and decided I was doing more harm than good so I put him in a separate box with a friend and with a little TLC he was up on his feet again. He went back in with all his friends last night. I have one with some badly curled toes though. If he is still alive when I get home I may make him flippers.

Those micro birds must really be a struggle! One of my tiny Olandsk Dwarfs had spraddle leg too and was nearly impossible to make a hobble for. She wiggled out of the stretchy vet wrap strips I made following a tutorial.
I finally cut very thin strips and just made a single in knotted each end around her ankles with enough length between to allow her to waddle instead of spraddle. I left the knot loose enough so that it didn't cut into her leg and because it is sticky, the knot held. She fussed with them but was unable to undo them and in a couple of days she was walking perfectly!

We had the same thing happen no egg turning until day 14 , turner wasn't running !! Out of 28 eggs @ lock down we hatched 20 very healthy chicks!!! the last 8 were fully developed but never hatched.

When i fill my incubator up and need more space i just fill the egg racks and set them on the bottom and never mess with them till i move them to the hatcher. Have just as good hatch as ones that are turned Once read an article about this theory done at a college and they had same results also

I would love some of those gray hatching eggs! ;) How did you produce the gray? ETA: The one egg in back looks like it's two colors!

his egg gene is the green, hers is the purple-y pink on the right.

below is the grey egg layer as a chick

This was one of her brothers he is at a diff farm hopeful I can get his offspring...

this is a diff brother...and at a diff farm...This may be the dad to the chick that hatched today...at this farm last year I gave a lady grey gene hatching eggs, this year she gave me back some eggs to hatch...
