I've currently got 10 english orp eggs under a broody (first time for both of us, lol) in a nest box, el natural...after I see how this goes and sell the babies, I'll look into getting some Ameraucana eggs from a breeder about 30 miles away, and more orp eggs. I plan on selling a couple of my current ladies, the unfriendly little misses that they are and replacing them.Ahhh, gotcha! Definitely understand that! I hope you are able to get one in the future!
I live in the mountains in Riverside County, so Southern California! There’s someone in Corona who has beautiful Isabel and wheaten ameraucanas that I may need to get next spring (need to extend my chicken yard first). The bantams would be so cute, I have a mixed flock ranging from a big lavender Orpington to my tiny little Belgian D’uccles, it’s fun to have a mix!Oooo, the isabel color is sooo pretty! I know a lady who has beautiful Ameraucanas, including wheatens...when I have the space I am totally getting more haha. Another lady has bantam wheatens...I'm definitely interested in the bantam sizes! I am considering breeding Ameraucanas as my primary standard breed, but my space is limited...so bantams would be easier! Where are you in CA? The lady I got mine from is about an hour from Sacramento and they are just gorgeous birds!

I have a Lavender Laced, a Lavender Cuckoo, and a Mauve Splash Orpington. The laced is English and currently broody haha. She gets grumpy when I take her eggs We hatched (thanks to sneaky broody bantam cochins) 5 eggs from my birds - the lavender Ameraucana roosters over the Orpingtons. I am really excited to see how they feather out and fill in

I also have a mixed flock! It's heavy in Ams and Orps, but I also have Marans, Polish, Cochins, d'Uccles and Wyandottes! I just love them all but the Ams are my babies!!I think its more along the lines of Ameraucanas have set colors and features. They will ALWAYS lay blue eggs, have muffs, have slate legs. EEs could have all those traitsEaster eggers dont have muffs or beards, plus i think amarucanas lay blue eggs! My black sex link rizo is ALWAYS photobombing!
also sense EE’s are mixes, they could have small muffs and or beards, but its not the same, and usually rare and faint.
