I love all of your birds
I was just looking at your website, and was wondering if you had gotten any paints yet,
Thanks, your to kind....i was i bit slow getting started with paints..moved to VA the beginning of the year and had to start over with coops...what a pain...also put a lot of my focus on my polish this year..just did some bird shuffling to focus on paints and try to get a better understanding...fast experiment with a couple eggs this summer did produce 2 paints from my dom white roo over black hen...lot of smutt in them though...
After I get my roof on, I'd like to have some of your bloodline. Do you plan on any auctions, or selling in the next month or so? I have had a paint hen for about a year and didn't know it, LOL. I thought she was odd with black feathers in her crest, but that crest was sooooo huge, I had to keep her. Bred her to a white rooster, and she produced 2 offspring that have 1 to 2 spots on them.
I have no idea, how it's working. Sure would be nice to figure it out. The paints do have a lot of smutt color. Kind of an orange color, can't really describe it. My males have it mostly. My girls are pretty white.
I have had several that hatch with no spots, and end up with spots
Drives me crazy
I have them hatch from pure white to a yellow/golden color. Then I get black and blues as well. My blues are pretty good, but the blacks are not really that great. I kept 2 blacks from about 24 that I hatched.
I don't even know how to tell if a bird is dom white or recessive. I must do some learning.
