I don't understand how, the Chameleon hen's father Dino is an F2 from my original Wheaten Crele Orpington project from 2018.

It's one of Those Mysteries that could only happen on your breeding projects... Every now and then you get unknown and outright inexplicable genetic mysteries.

Thanks for sharing, but it's going to be quite difficult to find answers, there are so many hidden genes that affect the phenotype and can cause false positives. Your Coop if filled with them. We can only guesstimate with a high or somewhat high certainty but never be 100% be sure.
