Two mares were slowly walking towards Sagemint. The first was black as night, even her eyes had a dark tinge to them. The second was strikingly the opposite, pure white with softer features then the first.

Wind nodded. "Welcome to Sagemint. You are welcome to stay while Lightning and I make some plans for a ceremony for our daughter. Follow me, I can take you to the stream if you are thirsty. Or I can take you to the grazing pasture if you are hungry."

Wind led them to the stream. "Here we are. Head back towards the Great Rock over there when you are done. I will be there. I have some things to talk over with my mate."

Wind walked away, his white mane and tail in sharp contrast to his black coat. He tured back to them. "And one other thing, the rule for the whole herd is that all are free to leave whenever they like. But they must return before dusk."
