A shadow loomed over the fields as a silhouetted figure stood atop a tall hill that poured into the lush valley of the Cimarron. The moonlight shone in gentle ribbons of blue-hued light on the stallion's spotted skin, outlining his muscular figure from the darkness of the night. His streaked mane blew wildly in the winds as he reared and set off to investigate the quiet chatters of other horses he'd heard.

Lightning lifted her head and nickered a warning. "Stay back, Flint." Her shoulders rippled and her eyes represented authority. She snorted, her mane softly blowing. The stallion came closer and she met with him. The moon burned a hole in the night and Midnight's normally black face seemed purple. She tensed, and all was still as she spoke in an assertive tone. "Welcome to the Cimarron."
