She would have made a smart retort to Jay, or perhaps just flashed her long eyelashes and flicked her tail; but she did neither. She was too tired and thirsty, her tail too caked with mud and eyes as likely to shoot lasers as to look at anyone sassily or otherwise at the moment.
She gave Wind a smile and departed to the watering hole.
