These birds aren't pure English, but they are a percentage. I do breed towards the English standard.

I'll be outcrossing this line to another that a friend of mine imported directly from the UK last year, and will be working towards birds with even better type.

The only Blue bantams in the States were of American origin before she imported, so in order to get the Blues & Mauves, breeding to American lines was necessary.

@Peanutsmomma eventually, gotta give them time to mature, hatch a few from the flock for myself, and then most likely.

Probably later this fall.

The weather is perfect in California today, so I snapped a few more pics.

It's a hard knock life... soaking up sun, & dust bathing.




I'm falling in love with this little Blue pullet, I need to name her, every day it seems like she blossoms more and more.


& my Chocolate boy, a little bleached in his hackles from all the sunshine we've had this "winter".

What kind of feed are you all using for your bantams?

I went into this a little earlier in the thread with Lacy Blues about the struggles I have in getting our little chocolate roo to eat feed so I was wondering what other brands everyone is using? Does your flock prefer crumbles or bantam pellets? Right now I am alternating between Scratch and Peck and Tucker Milling feed. Thanks in advance for sharing!
