I might be a little bit of a fan of bantam Cochins. I have just under 40 of them at the moment.

The extraordinary thing to me is that I didn't even realize how many I had until I mentally gave them all a role call yesterday. That means that almost half the chickens I own right now are Cochins

Jellybean and friends are almost set up in their growout coop! Just need to add a bit of shade to the front and the perches. Debating adding the bantams or building a second one next to it. This is only for the next few weeks while I decide who stays. Best part is all the wood was free!

Aww, those first crows are pretty funny, aren't they? I think the fact that they're so proud of themselves when they squeak them out makes it even funnier.

I went out to the coop to grab a couple pictures of my naked neck bantam (yet to be named) earlier and Trixie the silkied Black Cochin bantam decided she needed to be the focus of that photo shoot.

[Gammas Bearded Babies]

I tried a field trip with the China and Coco yesterday to see the 5 day older babies Satin&Silkies. They did very well!
I brought em in lady night since temps dipped a tad and didn't wanna fool with moving heat plate. They had already tucked themselves in the very corner under edge of a box flap that lines the brooder like they had been sent to the corner! All ya saw was their lil booties poking out !

My WTBs keep sneaking into the pen to eat the pellets IT’S THE SAME FOOD IN THEIR FEEDER. Either they’re somehow getting through the bird netting or going under in a place I can’t figure out… Little turds. So far everyone is fine, Jellybean is sparring with Karen or Kevin through the fence. Might need to shift the pen further

It has been awhile since I have had Cochins. They have always been one of my favorite breeds though. I like their calm disposition, along with their compact tails and bulky looking build. With their short feathered legs. It looks like just float above the ground. After not having good luck keeping Silkies. I have decided to get Cochins again. I found breeder that has Partridge. My favorite color. I can’t wait until they hatch.
