Hey Friends,

I happened to have been wondering... Do you all like Brahma's? They are in fact my favorite breed! They play a big role in why I love chickens so much. Does anybody have Brahma's? If so-

Now I myself, will fill out the form. Here is my entry:

Do you have Brahma's?
Yes, I had four but lost one. I have three hens now, and two chicks that are Brahma crosses.
Do you like the breed?
My favorite breed! I truely love them.
How many do you have?

Like I mentioned above, three and a quarter.
How many do you want?

I want a flock of them. At least one rooster of the breed would be nice.
Why did you choose this breed?

I heard good about them, and that they lay through the winter. Also, they are pretty birds.
Why do you like this breed?
They are so sweet and they come running to you. They love attention and are pretty easy to care for. People act like they are big monsters, they are strong indeed, but not giant. They also have the pea comb of which is less prone to frost bite.
Your turn! Please have fun and fill us in on your everyday journeys of Brahma keeping. Please follow all of the rules. If we want a happy, fun and healthy thread keep it PG based.

Thank you for taking your time to read this! Start the fun!

I will start:

So last night, I was in the house when my Dad went to check the chickens quiThis is the second time this took place, my hen, Roxy, has a issue with her foot.
It had blood going up it. I put peroxide (with water of course) and stuck her foot into it. Once dry, I put some medical gel on it and she was fine.

The others peck at her foot.

I know, I know... Not the most amazing story! Ha ha. I bet you have better.

Sincerely,
-The Angry Hen

P.S

Sorry if this isn't the best thread.

Do I have brahmas? Yes
Do I like brahmas? No, I love them.
Do I have brahmas? Yes, I have 1 buff hen.
How many do I want? 3
Why did I choose this breed? I got her as a gift.
Why do I like the breed? Because my buff brahma is super sweet and gentle. I love the color pattern on her.

I have a white Brahma, definitely choose her for the coloring pattern and fact that was good source of meat too!! She was the biggest one of the 3 chicks we had gotten, and holds her own in the flock especially against the Queen RIR hen. I'd love to be able to get a Brahma Rooster for the beauty but only when get more room and out of city limits.

Hey!

How have you been? :)

Thanks for the form! You are now a member of the Brahma conversation. Great choices on everything! They are beautiful birds. I am glad you love the breed too. :D

What's your hen's name?
Lets see, I have a Roxy, Lilly, Milly and used to have had a Pipi. Milly's my favorite, very energetic and funny. I love how they walk. :)

That's neat. I would love the rooster too, they are strong looking and handsome. I will have to get more room first though, too... Ha ha.
I hatched two chicks (the Brahma mixes I mentioned above), I shall see soon enough if either is a rooster!! Fingers are crossed!

Hi

Good. You?

Awesome, and thanks.

Her name is Annika. She just turned one a week ago.

Great names.
Me too

Do you have Brahma's?
Yes
Do you like the breed?
Yes
How many do you have?
3 darks
How many do you want?
Jury is still out. Also husband has put a kibosh on my chicken math for the time being.
Why did you choose this breed?
They were inexpensive 4 month olds and I needed a bigger flock for my cockerels.
Why do you like this breed?

I like that they are gentle and willing to be held. I think they will make me more brave when it comes to handling my flock. I have been afraid of hurting my girls which makes picking them up hard.

I didn't go for the Buff Brahma since I was getting a Buff Orph chick in the mix of the 3, They are great birds.. The Mister called it Betty for Betty "White" lol yeah silly... She's in my profile pic with my Munchkin in the coop run...Stunning girl, I prefer full blood Brahmas though, not really interested in mixes.
