I got 3.5 inches of rain in 20 minutes, 4 total for the day and the rabbit pens flooded, one rabbit handled it fine (not in the picture) but one rabbit climbed on top of the male rabbits pent house and would not come down. i brought it down after the flood water receded but she kept climbing back up. I am going to switch out the female rabbits pens in a few days because I doubt this one will be receptive to breeding living in a place where she witnessed a flood. I am also considering raising the floor under the cage since thats where rabbits will be having kits. We have never had that much rain that fast but I need to be prepared for that to happen again. I had intentionally made the floor as high as I did because it was above the previous high water mark and I have a french drain running along side this pen. Very stressful day, I was going out every 20 to 30 minutes because it was raining. I check on my animals in the rain... and this rabbit had it much better than the seramas. Seramas tend to go under their coop during the rains and scratch around but the flood waters came up so fast they were stuck under the coop. I do not have pictures of that but I have a picture of the aftermath and you can see where they were all stuck.
the water level was up to that 8 inch brick where the chickens were packed in trapped, I laid a brick on the left that would allow them to jump to and could get into the coop if they could reach it but they ignored it. I was afraid the water levels were still rising and almost crawled under there to get them but realized the water was between 6 and 8 inches deep and I could drown trying to get them out. Some Seramas were in the rafters (the floor of the coop is a pallet and some seramas were up on the bottom level of that pallet). I felt helpless trying to get them out from under there. But the chickens are ok and they handle adversity well unlike rabbits.
this picture shows where some of the seramas went, I was able to pluck 2 seramas from up front like those 2 young Barred Rock Pullets were. but most were deeper in there. I didn't bother rescuing the barred rocks because they could keep their heads above water and had long enough legs to swim if they had to. It was the seramas I was worried about. I ended up lucky the only casualty from the sudden flash flood was the psyche of one rabbit. No deaths, no Injuries. However I was really worried about the Seramas, had the rain kept falling another 10 minutes and I would have lost all but 2 broody moms and 9 youngsters that were up above the coops in cages I made for Seramas. Thats why my Seramas were in coop/pens because I let the broody hens have the cages to raise their young. Plus I figured it would be a nice treat to let the seramas experience scratching and pecking on the ground. for the summer. This thread is supposed to be about Rabbits but the chicken experience showed how bad the flood was and I could only be at one location at a time when I have animals at ground level at 7 different locations.
How do y'all store your hay? I've seen a lot of people keep it in a tall garbage bin but haven't seen any other ways to store it.
My bunny is acting very strange lately. He keeps eating out of the chicken feed bowls, drinks next to the chickens, spends much time in coop with the hens, and prefers the company of the birds. (Free ranging, he goes, where ever the chickens go) Is he turning "chicken" on me? 
We just got a new bunny.. we think it has fur mites.. can my cats catch these mites!? And more importantly, can my chickens catch these mites!? Iโm sorta freaking out! The bunny is scratching a lot and has some sores.. we got her last Wednesday.. can I bathe her? I called some vets and one recommended puppy/kitten Revolution.. but that is for ear mites I think..
I would treat your bunny, the way you would treat any mite infestation.
Dont bathe her!! Never bathe rabbits, they'll get hypothermia, and can go into shock and die.
Is this your first rabbit?
You can use a flea comb to help get some out. Go down her back, not up it.
And yes, it can transfer to other animals.
