Trolls post to provoke controversy. If you don't feed them (i.e. don't reply to them in any way, shape or form) they wither and hopefully dry up and go away.

I'd like to point out that not all people who do this are trolls. Some of them (and I wouldn't know who any of them are

) do it to show how stupid people are, such as when your in a chat room that claims to be about race relations, but everyone is being trolls and ganging up on each other, and so you make one, small, innocent comment about your sexual orientation. And suddenly the room explodes and everyone has found a common enemy, and you find a lifelong friend in someone who was being picked on until you drew attention away but yes, for the most part these types of people are in fact trolls

OMG that sounds scarey, really, and I would like to also comment on how trolls can actually be living in your very home, unbeknownst to you !
All ya gotta do is keep your puter on, on the forum, and go to the store or someplace (go cook dinner) and these trolls can move in and write all sorts of oddball stuff with YOUR name on it !
Happened to me !
And yes, it occured to me it was my kids, but they swear it wasn't them...so it musta been the trolls...and still a few BYCers will not speak to me !
