The chicken tractor build has begun!!!

More progress (it's been slow these last few days because of the heat). A sneak peek at the interior. Each side will look the same. With the exception of the interior feeder, I have one side almost done. Removable roosts and poop hammock hung (hammock needs some adjusting):

And, my pride and joy (for which I have a new appreciation for those who actually paint and sell these online), my barn quilt. Though it was a real pain in the butt, I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out. Must remember to use Frog Tape (in lieu of Blue Tape) at the outset if ever I take on a project like this again:



Got the ladders started today and I hope to have the other poop hammock sewn by end of evening. At the rate I'm going, and with any luck, I'll have the birds in by the time Christmas rolls around.

Wow, that's all...just wow! Love the colors, the sliding eaves, the barn quilt, the poop hammocks, the astroturf on the exterior boxes. It's all really, really nice. Those are going to be some lucky chickens to get a cool coop like Poultry In Motion!

Chicken tractor is done! Well, save for a few, small punch-out items:

Wheels got a couple of fresh coats of paint and the ladders are hung and ready for transport:




Even though each coop has an indoor waterer, I decided to add a waterer on the outside as well:

Added a few, decorative touches; antlers above each coop door:




Door knocker is, of course, a rooster! :




Had so much fun painting and hanging the barn quilt for the back that I decided the front needed one as well:


Chickens will be in their new home this weekend! Need to make a few repairs to the electric net fencing before we pull the tractor out to pasture and we're good to go.
