Definately try blue cote. It has worked everytime one of my birds gets picked on. It does stain, so wash your hands right away if you get any on you.

They have no problem eating the blue kote to get to the flesh. I have it on her all the time and sometime I wonder if they might even like the taste.

Looks like she's already tried Blukote to no avail.

to the OP: The best thing to do when you get a judgmental, unhelpful answer is to ignore it.

I know this is a very serious thread about the goat's head, but I want to thank all the posters. I haven't laughed this hard in years. I needed this like you don't know.

Something to remember is chickens are scavengers. They will just about eat anything. Maybe not to the extent the possum will but scavengers still the same. The sore and the blood is just another meal to them. But infection is certainly one thing to concern yourself with. Even without the chickens constant pecking, if the sore is open, flies will lay eggs in it and we all know what comes from that. Then the chickens will have a feast. They may have seperation anxiety for a time but it's for everybody health.

I am too. I like my critters.

Currently I have 18 red sex links that have recently started to lay. As well as 42 white rock meat makin' machines.
Next year though...I will be modifying a shed to house many more!! I appear to have become addicted.

Everyone is trying to be helpful, and there are some good ideas in this thread, the most obvious being to separate the goat from the chickens.

No need to discuss further.

Valsey,
Let us know how your goat does...
