Announcement The Coop Page / Article Rating & Review Project!

Pics
It looks like we ran out of pages with only one rating! I don't know how Nifty does the update unfortunately, so we'll have to wait for him. He should be on soon. In the meantime I think what we all can do is pick through the pages at random and rate any we haven't rated yet, especially the ones with less than 5 ratings. Here are some:

Taj Mahal / Wichita knockoff
Wichita Cabin Coop (This one shows NO ratings for me)
Our first ever attempt at a coop and run.
Free Tractor Coop
This is my Main Coop of 4 years (Also 0 ratings)
Boot Camp Oneway - Freezer Camp Prep, No Egg Butts Allowed!
The Chicken Coop D'État!
Very Low Cost But Tons of Work: Recycled Coop
Home Sweet Home
How do you like my new 6x8 coop?
Building a multi-use and simple Chicken Duck Enclosure

I guess maybe it's not too late? @sumi are there some categories of coops we should be looking for while rating? Anybody else have other ideas of "groups" of types of coops?[/QUOTE]

Haven't read to the end of the 'unread' yet, but there are a fair number of what I'd call "transportation". Really cool little ways to move chicks from one place to another but not to the level of being called a tractor.

I was wondering if there was a sub category by state, so that if I was wanting to build a coop I could look under coops and then by state to see what was working for other people in my area or in states near me that have similar weather conditions!

Nifty and I are discussing what we can do for the other fowl housing pages at the moment. I saw a few nice hoop coops and I think that may be a good category, but at the same time, I'm worried we'll end up with too many categories. I think Nifty said something about tagging the coops, to make them easier to find by type?

The instructions for making a coop page discourage using tags. That might need to change.

It says something like: If you do not know what tags are, don't use them. I bet the forum has a package for adding tags that novices can use

Like you say and was said differently earlier @KikisGirls, I can see value on this because of weather constrictions.
A medium sized, recycled coop with a small run that is built for Minnesota
will not resemble
A medium sized, recycled coop with a small run that is built for Arizona, right?

It's the meta description that you see when you create an article.

The initial article screen for coops does not have tags in it. I see it later and can add them but I suspect that is because I am a project manager and can do some work on other members articles.

The tag option is in the middle of the screen when creating a new article:
