They both stared at me for a moment, as if they couldn't believe what I just said. "What!" Rio clucked angrily, "We came all this way to save your hide, and you turn around and say no??!!" "Rio, I can't! You are all just gonna growl and push me away again! I'd rather be by myself then with a bunch of dogs who are supposed to be my family who growl, ignore and treat me like dirt!" I growled in his face. "They are only doing it because they love you and want you to accomplish things by yourself! I agree with them! You were becoming a wimpy puppy who clung to its mother like it was a baby!" Rio squawked, furious now. I glared at him, then walked stubbornly away, my snout in the air. "C'mon, Carrot." Rio said, sighing. "Lets go home." Carrot looked from me to Rio, then back again, then with a sad cluck, trailed after Rio. I marched through the forest, muttering angry words. After a short time, I started to thing logically. "Maybe, if I went back and acted like a grown up.... maybe.... just maybe they'd pay me some attention." I said to myself. No! What was I thinking? They wouldn't do that. I have to go out on my own. Forget about them. Keep going and don't look back. So I trotted on. I ran up a hill and started to hear beeping, honking and weird, loud noises. I reached the top of the slope and peered down. Below me, was a huge city with bustling cars that beeped non stop; there were buildings and houses, towers and lights. People wandered the streets and even from that very hill, I could smell hot dogs, french fries, ice cream, fried chicken and steak. "Welcome to the city, Tucker." I said to myself, then ran down the hill.
