I have RC colored dorkings, 2 mature males and 2 mature females from Sandhill, last summer. For the last 3 weeks, I have 1 of the dorking roosters with all the hens (blue orpingtons, golden laced wyandottes and dorkings).
All of the other roosters are together in another house. I don't have both dorking roosters with the hens because 1 dorking rooster put the hurts on the other one.
In about another week, I am going to put the other dorking rooster in with the hens and his brother and see what happens for a few days. Then I am going to separate the dorking hens, so I can get their eggs for hatching.
We have immediate plans for a larger poultry house, so we can separate all 3 of our breeds and for food storage. Would be interested in getting some other colored dorkings to expand my blood lines.
Am currently incubating some b/b/s orpington eggs from another BYC member. Don't know how this will turn out because of disrupted air sacs but are doing our best.
Am from SE OHIO.
