The EE braggers thread!!!

My cuckoo Marans had those crazy wings where the tips are long and the rest is short. For a while, I thought she might have a feathering defect because the wing feathers stuck out a bit as they were coming in. But she's all girl -- the feathers are in now and her dark coloring and round shape scream pullet.
my BCM were like that, the leading edge wing feathers grew so fast they nearly touched under the tail at 2 weeks. at the same time the tails were sprouting out, those were boys.

The 3 wing pictures, first 2 are boys last one is girl. Knock on wood i have yet to be wrong about this with my hatches
Thanks, I was thinking it might be like that, will continue to wait and watch.

But at six weeks, no comb growth or color and a dark feathering with an almost exaggerated, horizontal posture and roundness? No way she's a boy! I'd say zero chance. I just wanted to point out that it's hardly a rule that funky wings = male. On the flipside, my EE cockerel didn't feather differently in the wings and his tail was longer (and a bit more curled) than the pullets' tails.

These guys are only a week old; This is the hatch I did for me but I have more hatching right now from the same breeding and people wanting just pullets so was trying to see if there was a way to tell sooner than 6-8 weeks. Much easier on my marans & BO, those boys grow their combs FAST!

I wouldn't make gender promises based on something so unreliable as wing feathers. It's better IMO to sell them straight run than to have disgruntled customers calling because several of their "pullets" are crowing.

Oh I have been making it clear that they are straight run; no guarantees on anything except they are EE and healthy!

Hello everyone!
I just found y'all's thread and I have a young lady that came from ideal who I think is an EE but I'm not sure cause she doesn't look like any body else! What are y'all's thought she is the white colored one in the pic!

Fuzzy face, pea comb, green legs? = EE! They are all colors, so yes, she is probably an Easter Egger. The hatcheries are coming up with some pretty colors now.
