The EE braggers thread!!!

Here is my EE cockerel, Twinkie. Don't ask about the name, DH named him that as a joke. I got 3 EE chicks out of the bin at TSC and all 3 were cockerels! I rehomed 2 and this is the one we kept. Very nice fella although he was chasing the hens around today. I think the slightly warmer weather got his juices going!

DD can go in the run with him ane he doesn't bother her.

Thank you guys!

Someone on another thread said he was golden duckwing with white leaking through that made it look like spangling on his breast. I'll have to ask the woman who has the other two if they have the tufts and are rumpless. He came from Townline Hatchery near Grand Rapids, MI which supplies all the Michigan TSCs with chicks. When I grabbed 3 chicks, one of them was a little silver chipmunk in color which was this guy. The other was chipmunk and the other was fuzzy yellow--who grew up to be an off-white color although they were rehomed before I could tell about rump or tufts.

Here's a link to a thread about him, since I want to breed him to my hybrid layers to see what that would create. Closed because some people got upset about the word mutt.

Woohoo! That's some spicy reading with my morning cup 'o joe! Some very interesting info tucked into the corners of the conversation, so thanks for sharing the link. Have fun with your breeding project - very exciting possibilities....

CRASH0330 some pretty birds there in your yard. I like seeing that your Prickly Pear are fenced in to protect the birds ? I need to fence mine in also since they insist on falling over in the cold weather. They are hugh and produce much fruit for sauces. BTW where is Mecca ?
for spelling

Thanks,
Prickly Pear, thats how they are called?? I had no idea, we just call the catuses or "Nopales", thats the name in spanish, but ours dont give out fruit tho, it just must be a different kind of cactus.
And yeah I had to fence it all my birds but specially my ducks were having a fest with them so i had to do something to keep them out.
Mecca is a really small town in southern california its right next to the Salton sea maybe you've heard of it.

Oh yes I know about the Salton Sea. I live way north near Death Valley. Do your Cactii in the picture make flowers on the tip of their leaves ? BTW I have cooked prickly pear leaves and mixed them in with other vegetables because they are very nurtitious and many animals and peoples ear them. Jackrabbits will eat them to the ground. darn bunnies. I am reading the tread that is posted about EEs etc.
