The EMERGENCY Thread!!!

we need some more information. Has she prolapse? can you see the egg coming out or feel the egg? Is the egg intact or broken?

the first thing to do in most egg bound cases is going to be to soak her rear end in a tub of warm water and epsom salts
we soaked her last night and are currently soaking again. She seems alert but still swollen, and has reduced movement. We'll just keep watching her and see how it goes. Thank you!

ok.  10-20 mg per 1 kg of bird weight / per day

OR

100 - 200 mg per 1 kg of bird weight /per day for 3-5 days.

But I prefer not to give it to chickens individually.  It would be a lot easier for me if I could just give ?teaspoons per gallon of water for all to share.  :)

Can you open the package and see how many tablespoons it contains?

New Emergency!!
I just ordered my first chicks off of Purely Poultry. I got 3 barred rock, 3 easter eggers, and 4 leghorns. The post office called me this morning and said I had a package and to come pick it up from them. When I got there they brought me a completely crushed box with 10 dead chicks inside. I brought it out to my truck and pulled out the only 2 chicks with any sign of life at all. I have them under a heat lamp and I'm trying to give them some electrolyte water with a medicine dropper. They're barely hanging on.. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you,
-Emily

Update - they're gone

HELP!! One of our bantams (one week old) is lifting one leg like it hurts and won't walk on it. I can't see anything obviously wrong with it. Whenever we pick it up it will curl the foot up. It doesn't move around the brooder the way it should. What should I do for it?
