I just ordered my first chicks off of Purely Poultry. I got 3 barred rock, 3 easter eggers, and 4 leghorns. The post office called me this morning and said I had a package and to come pick it up from them. When I got there they brought me a completely crushed box with 10 dead chicks inside. I brought it out to my truck and pulled out the only 2 chicks with any sign of life at all. I have them under a heat lamp and I'm trying to give them some electrolyte water with a medicine dropper. They're barely hanging on.. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you,

There really wasn't much opening to do. It was so crushed when they handed it to me, the whole lid was ripped open. But the post office is closed now, so I'll be chatting with them on Monday. This is the exact condition it was in when I got it.

I am so sorry your dealing with this. I would send that picture, a picture of all the dead chicks and a copy of the receipt to the USPS. all claims filing is done online now. Pictures to document are a must. You'll need the tracking number, shippers address and your address to file the claim. File the claim ASAP on www.usps.com

That's unbelievable! Were they insured? The Post Office should pay for them.

SOME ONE HELP PLEASE! ONE of our chick's has had her face pecked off by the mother and I don't know what to do?!?!
