The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

Even with the winds dying down, there's no change in predicted storm surge of possibly up to 12 feet! My husband's cousin lives in Murrell's Inlet, a part of Myrtle Beach and basically at sea level. I'm worried about her. We have not heard from her but hope she has evacuated. Her house is all one level so no place to go if the water rises!

Oh, you guys remember crazyhen? Gloria Jean has a house on the NC coast and she divides her time between Hayesville, which is not far from me, and the coast. We haven't seen her on the thread in ages. Hope she's okay.

@crazyhen, are you around??
:confused: I unfortunately don't know her. People disappear from this site, and you never know where they went. It is one downside to BYC, the wondering. :hmm

I think that was before I started bugging you. She looks like a nice lady. I hope she's okay.

you haven't bugged me one single time, silly woman. Yes, she was awhile back and had a lot of health issues.

I remember her very well. She wanted to get rid of her place on the coast and move full time to her place in the mountains, right? You have a hen named after her. :)
I actually had been thinking of her and wondering how she was.

Yup, my splash Rock, Gloria Jean, is named for her. I haven't heard from her in so long and she was having so many issues. I know she wanted to move full time to her mountain place, but I don't think her husband was on board with that. He loves the coast.

I hope she's okay. Getting older stinks. :barnie

This stupid weather system has my sinuses in a rage. I've been coughing and sneezing, my neck hurts and now, I have a blooming headache. But, today, our local forecast says zero chance of rain, if you can believe it. My body knows it's coming, that's for sure. Finished the quilting on my Autumn Roosters quilt and have the binding pinned on, but had to quit for the day. It's so humid/sticky, it is very unpleasant to do anything in the house. Will have to turn on the A/C, I guess, this afternoon, to wring the humidity out of the house. I don't like to do that when birds are outside so I can hear what's going on.

There was a hawk in the trees nearby making a lot of noise and I found Gloria Jean hiding under a bell pepper plant in the garden and had to escort her back to the barn pen. She got separated from Atlas and MaryJo somehow. Wynette and Dru have not left the inside pen for two days. I'm not sure what's up with that. Maybe Dru is ailing and Wyn is staying close to her, being the head hen in there. Dru is sitting in the corner of their pen and pretty much stays inside, avoiding Atlas.
