How is your recovery coming?

@speckledhen
I know what you mean. Seems like things like that can be overwhelming just to think about. But when it's all done, if you do it, you'll look back and be glad you did.
Okay, just a bit fatigued and sore. Still frustrating to have to take it easy, probably what got me in this predicament to start with. Must learn to not work so much.

It's been over 100 all week here. 112 today and yesterday. This heat is wearing on me. My chickens are having a hard time also. They are already stressed because of molting.

Though he's the one that brought up building a house on the other lot, he's also the one who will back off of the entire idea. The idea may have to wait until and unless I become a widow one day. I suffer from SHS. Stubborn Husband Syndrome.

My friend, Ellie, lives near Redding, CA so I know what you're going through by way of her. It's odd to see highs at 110-116*. If you and she had the humidity along with those temps, no one would be alive! Her weather is on my Kindle, along with Ladyhawk's, as well as Seoul, South Korea, where my son lived for 6 years, and now, Dublin, Ireland, where the same son is now living and doing graduate school. It was very cool last night. Next week here, highs in 60's and 70's and lows in upper 40's to mid-50's.

Yes we are luck to have perfect humidity here. But this heat is really wearing on my last nerve.

Yesterday we were in the 50's, it was wonderful despite the rain, today it's hot again, hot for me in the high 70-80's. Humidity stinks at any temperature.
I agree wholeheartedly!

Ellie said the same thing. She's been canning, too, in recent weeks. I can't even imagine canning in that heat!

Today, we play musical chickens. Thea and her four 4 week old Brahma chicks will move to the little coop with attached covered run to grow out and be able to stay outside more. Brandy will probably move to a cage until hers hatch and get their land legs and Lizzie and her three BR chicks will move into the 5x8 pen until she is sick of being a mom, which can't be too much longer, considering they turned 6 weeks old this weekend. If both Thea and Lizzie leave their chicks, all seven will be combined and the sparks will fly. They are two and a half weeks apart and there are more of the younger ones than the older ones (though we all know that the BRs are more dominant than the Brahmas at that age). Then, we'll switch them all around again, I'm sure. Brandy will need a larger space if all six of hers hatch. She's on Day 19 today.
