Oh, now, fancy painting is not my purview, so sorry, no can do! What you should do is show your hubby that quilt block and tell him that since he has a wooden wall on that barn now, you'd like this motif painted on it. I want to see his face when you say that, LOL.

I'm tempted to paint on my shed, but I don't have the patience anymore, and my arms don't work too well either. Plus something geometric would require perfection, something I lack, I'm a "it's good enough" type of gal. My husband will pretty much anything I ask of him, but he's always short on time.

Yeah, we both have husbands that we have to be careful what we ask of, don't we?

I was out giving warm biscuits left from supper to the birds. Bash was on top of the nest box at my eye level, mostly swallowing them without offering them to the hens. Biscuit is a favorite of the boys, for sure. He reached over toward me after I showed him my hands and said, "All gone, buddy, no more". I didn't know what he was doing until he gently plucked a piece of biscuit off my cowl, LOL. Can't waste a crumb!

I agree, Cynthia! A barn quilt using that pattern would look awesome! I wish the top portion of our barn was wood and not that wavy plastic stuff. I'd have one up there for sure! I'd like to say DH will be replacing that one day, but the truth is that the old barn was not built on a lasting foundation, and it makes more sense to tear it down and build a new bigger barn than it does to jack it up, put an actual foundation down and then add on to it. At least I will have plenty of old barn wood for my projects, haha!

Your quilts look wonderful! I really like the colors you are using. Such an odd thing to think of really... color... and though they are in the same family, they can fight each other at the same time. I'll never forget our discussion in one of my painting classes in college... blue and yellow do no make green. I believe there is a book of the same name somewhere out there. So true though.

Following along as I can, always intrigued and almost always have something to add but often short on time. The boys are out back splitting next year's firewood with DH, so quiet in the house. We had the day off school because of the snow. We maybe got 2 inches, but you know how it goes with snow in the mountains.

Oh! Good news! We had our dexter heifer AI'd last month. I drew blood on her a week ago and sent it off for testing. We have a pregnant heifer!! Expecting a calf Sept. 19th! Send good vibes for another heifer, we desperately need to grow our little herd.

The color thing can be frustrating, especially when I have sucky lighting and bad eyesight to boot. I see well very close up, but you don't cut fabric that close up. But, my computer glasses are not strong enough, the distance is just not right, so on with the glasses then off with the glasses. I have to be careful that I'm cutting on the line I think I'm seeing. Add to that fabric that may have more stretch than you realize and seam allowances that may be literally a hair different, and all that together multiplies over the top of the quilt. But, that's handmade for you!

Then, go purple! You know what I mean.
I hate when it's so cold that the tiny bit of snow turns into a crunchy layer and stays there. And it was that way last night. It won't begin melting until this afternoon when it goes above freezing finally.

I keep forgetting to mention that Bash is so sweet and lovable, I have called him "Suede" more than once. That should tell you something. Maybe it's the wide blue chest, but he is the best boy ever. I love having a rooster I can hug if I want to (or need to, really).

23 here and I'm out without a coat. Acclimation anyone?

It's in the low 30's right now, 44* in the barn with the human door open. I'm letting them out though the ground is soggy with lots of half-frozen snow, very drippy and squishy everywhere. The sun actually feels warm, breeze is minimal. Ahhh!

Using some extra half-square triangles to make something else. No waste allowed if I can help it. Maybe the center of a lap quilt or just a table topper, don't know yet.
