The Evolution of Atlas: A Breeding (and Chat) Thread

I don't know the answers to any of those questions, but he is 41 years old, able to figure things out on his own, and he needs to do his due diligence to get this divorce over and done. I don't know what paperwork they were talking about and neither did he--no one notified him or her about extra papers (he can get into her email accounts and there was nothing). They did that once before, which is why the court case was delayed, but nothing since then and those papers were taken care of.

Ladyhawk was an atty in Florida many years back and says the judge was being a jerk about it, just like the female attorney who followed him out of the courtroom said. He'll have to start all over again somehow and he'll have to do what needs to be done. I can't do it for him. Last week, his dad told him that these things rarely go smoothly and was he sure he had all the appropriate paperwork for the case. He should have gone to someone and asked if there were outstanding signatures needed, or maybe he did and the clerk was too busy being snarky to look up his case, who knows? He's gotten nothing but attitude from the court so far.

He may not have to start all over again, just get the needed paperwork to satisfy the court. Here, it's not up to the clerk of court to give any advice on a case.

A crazy development! The judge herself called Shea, told her that if she got 2 forms back to her by the close of business on Tuesday, she would finalize the divorce! Makes me wonder if someone put a bug in her ear, maybe the female attorney? A judge herself just doesn't call after making a ruling like that. Michael is downloading the forms and will email them to Shea himself to be sure she gets them. Stay tuned for the next installment of As The Stomach Turns!

Well that's some improvement

Maybe I ought to just pull the covers over my head and come out when all the T's are crossed and the i's dotted...less stressful that way. But, then, it's his mess of a life, not mine. Just like in football, it ain't over until it's over. Anything can happen in the last few seconds of the game. Sheesh.

My husband, knowing that our son is not nearly as proactive as he should be, contacted his sister, who works for a law office. She's calling one of the attorneys this morning to see if she can get the forms he needs, as a backup. Leave it up to Michael to fumble this one, especially when he has to work all weekend and the other person is overseas and all wrapped up in LaLa Land.
