they came a few weeks ago, now they are getting feathers and have personalities, we did lose 3 but that is it. they are so cute !! half amaurcauna and game chicken.

My Golden Laced Wyandottes from Cackle went in the mail today. I have the tracking number bookmarked in my browser, the brooder is all set up and warming, food & water prepped for hungry babies.... now I'm just waiting by the phone until they get here!

I have 19 Gambel Quail eggs in the incubator! *does happy dance* 5 are on lockdown and the other 14 are getting HAND TURNED!!!!! (1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... and it goes on and on and on!)

Momma hatched 3. I'm very pleased. She brought them out of the henhouse today and is teaching them the ropes. How cute can they be?

Happy to report a quick and easy trip in the mail, everybody looks vigorous and has figured out the food and water situation. Looks like Cackle included a dab of gro-gel or one of those dense nutrient gels, which probably helped a lot.

I will join your group! I have my very first baby chicks (6 girls: 2 RIR, 2 easter eggers, 2 buff orpingtons) shipping out on Monday the 6th from My Pet Chicken. I believe the chicks come from Ohio, even though their offices are in CT. I will post back when I get my shipping e-mail from them Monday. I am so excited, but nervous at the same time. I want 6 happy, healthy GIRLS!
