Fantastic babies!! They are SO cute congrats to all

Okay, I have a question. I candled tonight at day 11. Out of 12 eggs, I have 5 moving chicks

The other 7 are either clear or have like what looks like a yolk but I can't see anything resembling veining. One has a dark line across it

Is that a blood ring? Should I pull all but the 5 good eggs at this point? Thanks so much for any help. I pray the 5 make it. I would be SO excited.

pbirdhaven: It sounds to me like your temps may be a little on the cool side, might try another thermometer and compare the two, also if you have and auto turner you really shouldn't need to turn the eggs any at all, the only time I do any additional movement with eggs is like on candling day I kinda re-arrange the order like put the middle ones to the outside and vice/versa. This year I'm without an auto turner so far so I'm doing the ol' el manuel by hand but hopfully thanks to my brother should be recieving another incubator with a turner and I can just use my old one as a hatcher and a stand by.

squirlatherat: I'd recandle them on day 14 and you'll really see the ones that are developing and compare them then you'll know what to keep and what not to . By this time or atleast on the 18th day you'll need all the non growers and dead ones out before you go into lockdown as you don't want them in there during hatch time.

Thanks. I went on and pulled the eggs as I could see nothing developing. Plus, I was afraid to keep the blood ring one in there. So, out of 12, I have 5. I am pleased with that. Best wishes today for great hatches. I sure hope my 5 little ones make it

Well, today is day 19 I'M IN LOCKDOWN!!!!! I'm am so excited, nervous, etc. Anyway, I took the eggs out of the turner last night and gave the little guys a good pep talk (Not to mention the prayer that was said). I thought that I would at least have a pip by now though.

Today is day 18!!! 13 eggs, all mutts, due on the 25.

We are on day 14. Candled last night and all eggs dark, with movement seen in the white eggs. I am getting so excited
