THE FIRST EGG MY CHICKENS LAID

I *think* my second EE laid her first egg today...... from the top roost It was nearly white but had a greenish tint and super thin shelled. My other EE has been laying four about a month and has always had a nice thick shell and beautiful blue. She has always used the nest box - i don't think it was her but i guess it could've been a fluke in thickness, color and delivery?! The second EE hasn't been squatting, but has been interested in the nest boxes recently. Funny thing is, my first EE didn't leave an egg in the nest today. So I guess it could've been her. These chickens are crazy making- hope it's EE #2 and she stops throwing eggs off the roost

If she's being laying for a month maybe she skipped a day. My Danish Brown missed one day since she's started.

I would go with your gut and it may be the second hens first egg! I was surprised when the RIR finally laid. I had gotten to the point where I thought it would never happen,lol

You are hilarious katieuppie! I have 5 EEs only one is laying and only every other day. They all look like females. I hope that I have at least one rooster.

One of my FBCM laid her first! I didn't even know because it was under the roost instead of in one of the nesting boxes she's been trying to push other girls out of. I'm hoping it'll get darker. The kids think the speckles on it are cool.

Ok. I didn't take the eggs in yesterday and when I collected the EE eggs today I had three! One is olive and one looks more blue than green. What colors do they look like to you'll?
