~The Forests of Avalon, A Dragon Roleplay~ 2

Arrow, already disappearing into the trees, didn't hear Otulissa's soft chide... but Amatis did. With the learner gone she growled deeply in the back of her throat and took up an aggressive stance in front of Otulissa. Alistair was her closest, most cherished friend. Nobody would get away with hurting him, not while she was still breathing.
___

Mayella didn't need to be told twice, she leaped quickly at Finny's shoulders, claws outstretched.
___

Camilla didn't seem to notice Tisep's smile or fake thanks, or she just ignored it. "You know, I'm looking for someone in particular. Maybe you can help me out the easy way, enough blood has been spilled already."

"So, you're next?" Otulissa said with a pleasant smile.

Finny grunted as Mayella's claws tore several long, deep scratches down her shoulders She threw herself onto the ground back-first, having the wind knocked out of her but kicking up at Mayella's unprotected undersides with her powerful feet.

"Oh really? Who?" Tisep cocked her head to the side, actually a little bit curious.

At this point Tanis managed to haul herself out of the tree and joined Kyra along the branch. She glanced cautiously at the healer when Droll started burning away the vines around his mouth, but Kyra didn't seem as nervous as she did. The vines had been collected to hold a dragon, so obviously they had put measures in place to prevent one from escaping through fire. "Quickly, there is a stash of vines collected underneath the trees. Wrap them around him, everywhere except his mouth. Chandler, Coraline, help Tanis." She ordered.

Tanis leaped down from the branch and grabbed a mouthful of the vines Kyra had indicated. She began wrapping them around Droll's body in addition to the ones that were already there, further containing him in their trap. Despite his attempts to free himself by burning vines around his mouth, it only freed the front of his head, which left his neck and the rest of his body trapped.

Droll just chuckled. He managed to get his neck angled a little more and now had his head pointing up at one of the three main vines that held the net in the air. He shoot another brust of flame and the vine, already uner a lot of pressure due to the weight of Droll's body, snapped only a second after the flames began to burn it. The other two vines snapped just after that because they couldn't handle the load on their own. The net, with Droll in it, came loose and started to fall. While he fell, he twisted himself so he would land on his back. This was for several reasons. When he landed, his tough back absorbed nearly all of the impact. At the same time, the razor-sharp blade-like spikes on his back were driven through the vines that made up the net from the force of the landing, effectively splitting the net in half on the bottom. Now that the net had some slack in it, Droll was able to quickly free himself from it. He bolted up into the nearest large tree, then dove straight at Tanis.

(Sorry I haven't been on Holly, been busy with school!)

Chandler jumped away from Droll as he crashed to the ground below, the branch he was standing on snapped and he only managed to save himself from falling on top of Droll by spreading his broad wings and catching them on some smaller branches a few feet below. His claws scored deeply on the branches as he hauled himself back up and stole a glance below at Droll, who was just finishing the final touches of his escape. As Droll dove at Tanis, he launched himself downwards and crashed headfirst into Droll, driving them both back to the ground.

(No worries, the battle is still on)

Tanis shoved Kyra out of the way, expecting Droll to reach them within seconds. It was now her duty, as a warrior, to protect the vital healer along with the learners stationed there already.

Kyra shouted in surprise as she suddenly found herself falling, and hit the ground hard a few feet behind Droll. It took her a second to recognise what was happening, but once she did she scrambled into the cave which held her medical supplise and nearly ran into Arrow who came blundering in with Alistair.

"Quick Kyra," he panted, nearly collapsing with exhaustion. "He got hit with some kind of poison, Amatis told me to come here." He coughed, then fought to get his breath back. "You have to help him!"

"You're right, I should just quit chatter and kill you both." His tone was sarcastic, but he didn't look like he was joking. He stretched the wing that she had hit, and then folded it against his body with the other and limped over to Maggie who was laying still not far from Silv and Adeline. With one claw he reached out and turned her head so that it was facing him and he could see into her eyes. "Megan." He said blankly, she was young when he had been exiled, about the same age as Adeline. "Too bad she got wrapped up in your little revenge game." His gaze drifted upwards to the battle raging overhead, and on the surrounding mountain peaks. "Too bad they all did." He was referring to Frill ratting out Caronia, as he assumed that the most logical reason for the sudden appearance of Camilla's warriors in his territory was because of her. They hadn't exactly parted on good terms.

"My little revenge game?" Frill gawked, swinging her trident tipped tail and stepping towards Maggie defensively, "You think too highly of yourself, you royal turd. I wouldn't start a war because you and a bunch of your bone-picking vulture troop were living in pile of dead stone. You killed Henry, your people started this, not mine. But we will end it."

Adeline looked away with a disgruntled snort, but didn't argue with him. They were already part of the battle now, might as well stick with it. At least Camilla hadn't quite made it to the ground yet... she cast a quick glance into the skies but didn't see the Queen's distinctive blue figure among the fighting dragons.

Silv knew where Jasper and Avalon-dragon's conversation was going; nowhere he want to be.
While he doubt they would team up or even figure out he had anything to do with it, Jasper being what he was and there being an already downed dragon, he would rather pick up the remains later.
Spreading his wings and pushing off the ground he called back, "Well, Adeline, I do believe our guests can handle the situation themselves."

"Give it your best shot," she challenged with a snarl. "I'll try not to kill you too quickly."
_____

Mayella, having her wings still open after leaping, managed to skip off Finny's claws with only minor wounds as her weight was not all coming down on top of Finny. She landed quickly behind Finny's head and lashed out with her hindclaws, aiming for the sensitive area's around the head.

"He's very brightly colored, and has a green head with spots." She gave Charlotte's description of Silv as accurately as she could. "Do you know this dragon?"

This time it was Jasper's turn to gawk, "Henry's dead?" He echoed in disbelief, swinging his massive head away from Maggie to face Frill. Although he hadn't parted on good terms with most of Pelendava, Henry was one of the few who he still remembered with a sort of fondness. They had trained together through their youth, and although Henry had never become a warrior in the end, they had remained friends. While Jasper had long since come to terms with the fact that his loyalties lay elsewhere, he still felt a pang of sadness to hear that he was dead... and even more so when Frill accused him, and Caronia for the murder.
