~The Forests of Avalon, A Dragon Roleplay~ 2

Droll latched onto Tanis andwrapped his legs around her tight, pinning her wings and legs and at the same time digging into her body with his talons. He purposefully didn't reopen his wings, letting both of them continue to fall. He intended to release her down low and lets her slam into the ground while he spread his wings and landed nearby, ready to attack again if need be.

Tanis snarled furiously and struggled to free herself, writhing and twisting all that she could within his grasp. His talons biting into her flesh made her wince with pain, but the thought of hitting the ground at this speed was worse. Finally, when struggling didn't seem to be getting her very far, she twisted her neck around, as her head was about the only part of her body she could still move freely, and bit hard into the ankle of one of the legs pinning her. Her teeth gnashed through his scales until she could feel blood against her lips, then twisted to make the wound bigger and even more painful.

Otulissa let out an owlish screech, flapping her wings and doing a half-somersault in mid-air. She grit her teeth at the scratches on the bases of her ears, lunging for Camilla and digging her claws into her chest. She swung around and bit the side of her neck, preparing to use the deadly venom in her fangs that she had in exchange for fire breath.

Tisep resisted the urge to yelp as her head smashed against a rock, making her vision spin as she tried to blink the stars out of her eyes. Finny, however, got up, and incensed, let out a ferocious roar. With lightning quickness she flew into the air, and came down hard on Alistair's spine.

(Camilla attacked Tisep and Finny, Alistair attacked Otulissa)

Thinking quickly, Alistair rolled over and down a steep, rocky embankment next to a dried up river bed in hopes that it would loosen her grip on his neck. He didn't know if she had venom or not, but having someone biting into your neck was never a good thing-- venom or not. His hind claws scored across her underside, kicking her in the gut, then scraping across the less protected scales to make her let go.

(Oh, sorry)

Otulissa hissed in irritation as Alistair rolled, not even able to get a drop in. She let out a shrill screech again as a large gash was opened up along her abdomen, and her spine-peppered tail and claws flailed in every direction imaginable.

Adeline was watching Silv intently for his reaction, and she could see the bloodlust on his face as clear as if the thought were her own. It was something she didn't understand, and couldn't relate to. The scent of blood intrigued her, made her curious, but it didn't make her unpredicable killers like she had seen in some others. She hoped that Silv would be able to keep it together, the last thing she needed was Camilla to find her flaunting with the enemy. Her focus was interrupted by a loud crashing noise from above and she only just had enough time to throw herself sideways and avoid being crushed by Jasper and Maggie as they hit the ground with a dull, muted thud.

Silv was in the air faster than a wet cat, spinning to face the noise, his tail poised to lash out.
Well, this wasn't exactly in the plan... He thought, glancing at Adeline and back. He recognized Jasper's form, although the other must have been one of the warriors from Avalon.

Droll winced in pain but tried to hold on. They were getting down low, but not as low as Droll had wanted. To prevent a permenant injury, he was forced to release Tanis early. Though she would be able to prevent a full-on crash, they were low enough when Droll let go and glided to a landing in a tree that there would still be a reasonable impact between Tanis and the ground unless something crazy happened.

Camilla grunted as Finny slammed into her back, but instead of trying to hold herself up, she let her legs loosen and collapse to absorb some of the impact. Now with a lower centre of gravity, she was able to roll sideways sharply and forcibly so that Finny crashed into the ground beside them. With a quick, slithering movement like a slippery snake, Camilla wriggled out from Finny's grasp but instead of attacking a second time, she raised her head to the brightening sky and let out a loud roar, complete with her trademark blue flame. It was time for the second battle party to join the fight.

(No worries! I'm not sure what exactly the venom does, so I guess you can fill that in with your next post

Alistair pushed himself away from Otulissa the moment she screeched and released her hold on his neck. He rolled backwards across the dusty riverbed, smearing blood across the cold rocks before coming to a halt. As much as he tried to avoid her spikes, he was unprepared for her tail when it came swinging towards him and he cried out in pain as the spikes grazed his shoulder before he could completely get out of the way.

Adeline's reaction was much more subtle then Silv's and she retreated into the bushes with only an annoyed hiss as they rolled to a stop not far from where she had been previously standing. Both warriors were stunned, obviously, after having plummeted to the ground from several hundred feet without having a chance to slow themselves before impact. Jasper struggled to his feet after about ten seconds of laying still, he tested his right front leg and found that putting any pressure on it was extremely painful. The small bones in his foot shifted and ground against one another, indicating that it had been broken in the fall.

Maggie was a few seconds slower to recover then Jasper, and had to lean up against a tree to stand for the first while. She was sore all over, everything hurt. It felt like someone was stabbing her with thousands of tiny claws all across her body. Her vision swam and the forest seemed to tip upsidedown a few times, sending her staggering off to the side and nearly falling again before temporarily regaining her balance. Nothing appeared to be broken, but she had definately hit her head somewhere on the way down.

The moment she was able, Tanis threw her wings out to their full extension to try and slow herself down enough. The strain on her joints and muscles was so great, and so painful that she cried out loudly in pain as she began to slow down. She knew she wouldn't be able to stop herself completely before impact, but she could try and steer herself towards a spot that would be the least painful to land on. It was just her luck that a shallow stream trickled through the forest below, and emptied into the small lake where Caronia collected their water. She barely had enough time to aim herself towards the water before with a loud, visible splash, she disappeared below the surface.
