The Fraggles

I love how she looks so tiny despite being so poofy when dry! I washed some marker off their heads and I think it was Cheryl but she just threw herself into the water. The poor gal was soaked to the skin (thankfully we had the sense to keep the water lukewarm.) We immediately took a low, cool hair dryer to her and once she got puffy cuddled her in a soft towel right next to our skin. Once the chaos was over, we couldn't stop giggling about how strange and small she'd looked.

I swear Patsy looks twice Lilly's size but it's all fluff. Shes bigger, but not a lot.

Shockingly, despite being the very lowest in the pecking order, Clementine appears to be the largest pullet so far. Badonkadonk is still an extremely close second. Poor Clem, she never gets treats. Even when I offer them specifically to her, she waits until everyone else comes to grab the treat and she politely excuses herself. I just wanna give you something yummy ya goof! Stop being so nice to your sisters and get yourself a treat once in a while. Oh, despite Chickie being at the top, Princess HOGS the treats. She fights tooth and nail to get at the worms first. Chickie can grab whatever she wants when she wants, but Princess still contests her as if she were any other chick. Perhaps Laya is second in command? Who knows

Keep watching. You will eventually know the full pecking order. It is likely still moving. I am sure the final pecking order is not yet set.

It is alot of fun to watch the flock dynamics develope. And not quite as fun when changing flock dynamics when they are full grown by adding new ones. Once it is settled it can be amusing to observe it but when the renegotiating is happening it can be concerning waiting for them to get it sorted.

I agree, I'm about to remove a rooster and add a hen. It will interesting if nothing else. I am hoping to limit the carnage by spreading out the change. I hope it works.

I wish I could’ve taken Jabber in. :(
Any pics of the new hen/name for her?

It will be one of the 2 pullets, Maleficent or Aurora.

Good looking girls. Not sure if it's camera angle or what but Maleficent looks cutely compact. We just separated and separately housed several cockerels that were starting to cause too much stir. Can already see how much everyone is relaxing. Wish I had my roo retreat built so I wouldn't have to do the dirty deed to them. Can't wait till I can keep all my extra pretty roo's .

I've actually thought that Mellie looked like she was compact as well. I'm very interested to watch as she grows up. She almost looks like how a child would draw a little chicken. Smooth lines and all.
